Disabled Data Link Group, is constituted as a 'Group'. Born in 1984 as a means to provide help and information to the disabled people of the United Kingdom.
Members of the group come from all parts of the UK and from many other countries, they come from every walk of life, from every financial group, from all religions and ethnic groups. DDLG has no aim besides supporting those that need help, at the time they need it.
Although DDLG does not offer support financially, we feel that the type of help we provide can guide those in need, to the help they need, quickly and decisively. we pull no punches, we tell the truth, perhaps, as we see it.
Since DDLG was formed, help for the disabled has improved in most areas, however, with the abolition of the green card scheme, it is now probably much harder to find gainful employment, unless one is highly educated and or qualified.
Unlike most support groups, DDLG is NOT a charity, we have not applied for, or even considered charity status, as we feel, this would provide additional problems and financial needs and may interfere in our primary mission. That is, to support each other, as only the disabled can understand what it is really like to live life with a disability.
DDLG will and does not restrict help to only those with disabilities, we help anyone who needs it, with pleasure and derive satisfaction from the fact we have been of service.
The truth is, an individual has one small voice, while a group can have millions, so, it is always best to speak as one, as a whole, so we encourage those wishing, to join. There is no charge for membership, there is no commitment required as a member, but your 'voice' can be included, in the 'group'. It is like any other collective group, a union, a political party, as a group, we draw strength and of course, within a group, you should never be 'alone' again, we will and do have each other, a 'family', united and solid.
If you are, as yet, not a member, please, if you feel the disabled need support and help, do join.
